Walk In The Winter

January 2, 2017

By Josh Albarran

As we being an brand-new calendar year, as usual we have to deal with this arctic weather as winter storms in much of the world. I was thinking if I want to do an poet if someone do go outside and walk to go to work or shopping or even school in the winter, be warn and be safe.

When it's cold on an wintry day.

It feels like an below freezing out there.

Nothing we can do about it.

The winds are blowing and it's blowing harder than ever.

Easy as you can say, hope it doesn't last longer.

Ready to walk in the winter.

Magic At Oscar Sunday!

Tom Hanks and Bugs Bunny at the 1987 Academy Awards.
(American Broadcasting Companies Inc.)
By Josh Albarran

When new movies become box office hits.
It would be nominated for a category.
On a night that it feels like the golden age again.
Has been their Super Bowl Sunday for years.

As the presenter gives out an award for their performance.
Ravishing as it feels for every star attending.
The winner of each goes on to the big stage.
Say anything that you want, but also to thank all of us.

Magical from the dresses to suits.
Only happens once a year.
Vaults are opened for the past year's highlights.
It is their Super Bowl Sunday.
Ecstatic with the lights up at the Chinese Theater.
Success only comes at the Academy Awards.

The 89th Academy Awards airs Sunday, February 28th at 7pm ET/4pm PT on ABC.

All Good Things

By Josh Albarran - June 24, 2015

"Goodbye Jean-Luc. I'm gonna miss you. You had such potential. But then again, all good things must come to an end." - Q to Captain Picard (left) in the Star Trek: The Next Generation series finale titled "All Good Things."(Paramount Pictures)
Life is your personal thing to enjoy.
Into the darkness, there's a final chapter in a book.
Forget someone that you love.
Everything must come to a end.

Spending time with your friends and your family.
Personally, good things will be remember.
Occasionally, it's logical to be expected with.
Communication is the key of life to stay in touch.
Kindness brings up happy every day.

There are good moments, bad moments.
From the Big Bang in the past.
To a possibly World War III in the future.
All good things, must come to an end.

The Thanksgiving Poem

By Josh Albarran

An artwork of a Thanksgiving dinner during the events of World War 2, promoted as "Freedom from Want" in 1943.

In the spirit of a holiday, a one true gift that we care.
One special gift that we are thankful every year.
Everyone around the world has a family to thank with.

Son, daughter, mother, father, grandma, grandpa, aunt and cousin.
Whenever it's the parade, football, movies or shopping.
We are thankful to enjoy this very special holiday.

Cook the turkey, slice the pie, score a touchdown.
Or watch the ballons up in the deep blue sky.
We the people are thankful to have Thanksgiving.

Happy Holidays and enjoy the winter season.

Ode To Bugs Bunny

By Josh Albarran

Bugs Bunny, the star of the Warner Bros. Cartoon series Looney Tunes.
(Josh Albarran)

The last of the three summer poems are based upon my artistic work made for a poetry book back in the spring of 2012, personally I'll like to thank Melanie Maria Goodreaux and Lauren Murphy for all of their contribution. Note some or most are re-edited from the original poem.

Oh Bugs Bunny, my favorite cartoon character.
My screwy rabbit.
Your ears are taller than the World Trade Center
and your eyes are so buggy you can explode.

Your beautiful ears gots more lots than the Warner Bros. lot.
How much do I love that screwy rabbit?
More than I love watching you every morning at 6 AM.
I remember you had wacky adventures with Daffy and Elmer.

A million rabbits could never hop faster than my love for you.
I love you more than Mickey Mouse or Walt Disney.
My screwy rabbit.
Oh Bugs Bunny, my favorite cartoon character.

Strong As A Muscle

By Josh Albarran

Professional wrestler and mixed martial arts superstar Brock Lesnar the UFC 141 PPV weigh-in in 2011.
(Ultimate Fighting Championship/Zuffa, LLC.)

Moves like a brave lion.
Young as I change the future.

Sees the real side of me.
Older than a 86-year old man.
Understands the true meaning of life.
Loves like a real artist.

Is like something stuck into your vision.
Sounds like a happy ending to a fairy tale.

Thunderstorms make noise.
It scares you living heck out of you.
They combing lighting and sound.

Does it make you noise?
Mostly, you should or don't care.
Nervous about Thunder?
Little bit, but not much.

It's not like God would light the thunder into you.
Cause if, you will get electrocuted.
Thunderstorms make noise.
Combing lighting and sound.
